It’s Christmas Eve! I cannot believe we’re almost at the end of Blogmas 2019 – or that I have made it this far! But we still have a couple of posts left and some more before the New Year so let’s just jump right in. If you have not already managed to get a gift for someone, then a gift card is probably the easiest thing to get now! A lot of stores offer instant codes that are emailed to you or the recipient. Today, we’ll be looking at how to make a quick and easy DIY gift card holder for the occasion – or any occasion, really.

Personalised Mother’s Day Gift Guide
Personalised gifts are one of my favourite things so I thought it was only apt to create a Personalised Gift Guide today. I’ve found that it’s really hard to dislike something which is personalised to you. It shows so much thought and effort has gone into the present. And since Mother’s Day is quickly coming up, I found a few great personalised gifts that I absolutely adore, which might help give you some ideas for your own presents! This Personalised Gift Guide features various products from Etsy, which has a huge range of handmade items. Continue reading “Personalised Mother’s Day Gift Guide”
Thoughtful yet inexpensive gifts: Journals
There are so many occasions every year, for so many people. From Birthdays to Valentine’s Day. From Christmas to Mother’s Day. Finding the right presents for people can be tricky at times and it can also get really expensive, real quickly. At this time of year, I tend to prefer to start saving up after the Christmas and January sales splurge. But then we’re hit by Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter. The cost of a card, gift or perhaps a short trip away definitely add up. So I thought I would share a few of my favourite gifts, which are surprisingly inexpensive and easy to do. There are plenty of different things that could be done so I’m going to break down the posts a little.
Each time, I’ll feature some different thoughtful yet inexpensive gift ideas. Today’s feature is all about journals and basic memory books.
Now, I’ll be honest, I’m not really one to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I don’t agree with the concept of having a single day to spoil your partner. As such, I don’t really make any special plans for the day. I hold no expectations for it and am lucky enough to have a partner who agrees with me. So we can relax and ‘do nothing’ together.
However, I do think that sometimes, Valentine’s Day can provide people a nice reminder to treasure their loved ones or provide them with another opportunity to spoil them. This love should not be limited to just your partner. It should include everyone in your life, including yourself. It’s a good reminder to spoil yourself, as well as your family and friends.
So this year, I decided that I am going to do a bit of self-care and self-love in the month of February, in honour of Valentine’s Day – and hopefully, good habits.

Luxury Writing Gifts
If you’ve been around the Aumsome blog for a while, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of writing. I encourage it in so many situations. From handwriting your notes to writing letters. Thanks to Manuscript, who organised the first ever World Calligraphy Day earlier this year, I’ve been bitten by the calligraphy and lettering bug too. Calligraphy is a skill that requires a lot of practice. It requires a lot of patience too. While patience isn’t a virtue I have, I actually do love calligraphy. I also want to improve my general handwriting. So just handwriting everything I can helps! Whether it’s in my planner or the letters I occasionally write.
Today I wanted to share a few products that I’ve been testing out (detailed reviews for all of them coming in the new year). These are products that I think would make luxury writing gifts, as they make the whole writing experience more of a luxury. They would make really great gifts for anyone who likes to write letters or practice their calligraphy.
Since I’m quite new to the whole calligraphy thing myself, I think a lot of these would be great for someone just starting out too. So if you – or anyone you know – wants to look into a new skill, definitely check these out and see if you fancy giving it a go.
Handmade Christmas Gift Guide (Under £30)
I’m a huge fan of shopping small, independent or handmade. Christmas is no exception. I do shop from big retailers or brands, don’t get me wrong. But I make the conscious effort to try and shop small and support these small handmade businesses. Rather than lining the pockets of already rich people, you actually help support small businesses to grow and help people achieve their dreams. So I thought I would dedicate a meaningful Christmas Gift Guide to this cause. Here’s a list of a few of my top choices for a Handmade Christmas Gift guide this year – all of which are under £30. What better place to shop handmade than Etsy?
I’ve browsed through Etsy stores and found 10 products that stood out to me. These were chosen because they are all meaningful to me in some way. I love using stationery in a positive way in my life. Writing letters to loved ones, journaling (which is a good for my mental health and self-care routine), crafting or just being inspired by beautiful artwork or motivational quotes. I decided to choose products that range in value but all of them are under £30 each, as it’s just a little better for the budget at this time. I will be sharing more expensive items in another post later. So I think you should be able to find something for any stationery lover!
Whether it’s the main gift or a stocking filler, there’s things for everyone. Be sure to also check out the individual stores, as they all have tons of other great products. Since these are handmade products, most will be made in limited quantities or made to order so be sure to order early and check the individual shop’s policies to make sure they’ll arrive by Christmas.
