Christmas Planner and Planning for Christmas

For any event or holiday, planning in advance can make things a bit easier and less stressful. Christmas is no exception to the rule. It’s a very widely celebrated holiday that does take up quite a bit of time, effort and money. Planning – and budgeting properly – can make a huge difference to your mental wellbeing throughout the month and afterwards. Everyone’s Christmas Planner will look different, based on what you do and how you celebrate the holiday but I wanted to share mine in the hopes that it might give you some ideas. I have also included a free downloadable template that I used in my planner, in case you wanted to do the same.

Christmas Stamps – Royal Mail 2019 Stamps

Every year, the Royal Mail bring out the new Christmas stamps. They alternative between a religious themed set and a secular set. 2019’s Christmas stamps take a religious approach, bringing the nativity story alive. I quite like the style of this year’s collection. There are eight different stamps in the collection. It is very colourful, featuring beautiful paper-cut art and illustrations. You may have already seen these around but I wanted to share them with you, in case you hadn’t.

Three Good Things

Writing down three things that make you happy, that you’ve accomplished, that you’re proud of or just made you smile a little can make a difference on your mental wellbeing. Since mid August, I have been practicing this technique every night. It’s gotten to the point where it feels strange if I don’t do it. I have a dedicated notebook for it and I wanted to share why writing three good things every day is something we should all do.

I intend to carry this on, all year around as I think it will be helpful. However, since the festive period can get very hectic or stressful, I wanted to share this now. The holidays, whilst meant to be full of joy and happiness, can easily become a bit overwhelming. It can become costly, or just busier than usual. So this idea is very simple, minimal cost method of allowing yourself to rest, relax and recuperate. To find the joy in the smallest moments and remember what is important to you or makes you feel good. Because despite how busy life gets, it can also be wonderful.

Divinity Original Sin – the board game!

Painting miniature figurines is a pretty popular hobby. It is something that I have personally not tried but I do know quite a few people who enjoy it. Today, I wanted to share a kickstarter that is going on which combines a few of my loves. It is not necessarily stationery but it does involve some arts and crafts – if you fancy it. Those who know me will also know that my other main love in life is games. I love playing games – whether that is video games or board games. Perhaps as much as I love stationery, if that is even possible. This brilliant kickstarter that combines both my love for games as well as crafts. The Divinity Original Sin Board Game

Blogmas Day 8 - Divinity Original Sin Board Game

For me, the festive season is all about the people you have around you. Playing board games or video games with my family & friends is a huge part of my life. I love it. It’s a great way to do something together, without having to get dressed up or cost a lot. The majority of the costs are over once you purchase the game. So the news of this board game could not come at a better time for me.

With only 11 days to go before the kickstarter ends, I thought I would share this with you today so you had plenty of chance to pledge if you are interested!

DIY Advent Calendar – Using Letters

This year, I decided to get a little crafty whilst making some gifts for people. I really enjoy writing letters to people – even if they are super short. Often, it takes more time and effort than buying a gift and it’s really the thought that counts for me. So, I came up with a way to combine my love for letterwriting with Christmas. I decided to make one of my friends a DIY Advent Calendar this year. This could easily be changed up for occasion – or just as a random gift – though, in all honesty.
