National Stationery Week 2020

One of my favourite weeks in the year is National Stationery Week. It’s a great week to find likeminded people, passionate about stationery. This week tends to fall towards the end of April. Since National Stationery Week 2020 is actually their tenth year anniversary, the team are going big. They have already lined up a huge range of sponsors. I am really looking forward to seeing how it goes. However, I wanted to share this with you today for a few reasons. First, I wanted to share all of the brilliant sponsors they have. And second, the National Stationery Week team launched their #12DaysOfStationery today. This is twelve days of giveaways, for stationery lovers everywhere.

What is National Stationery Week?

The name pretty much tells you everything you need to know. But the week itself is a brilliant initiative to encourage more people to write. Handwriting letters, notes, whatever it is. They run initiatives on why writing matters and bring together an industry that makes a difference. Stationery is sometimes taken for granted. However, there are children in the world that can’t get an education, simply due to the lack of being able to afford basic writing materials. The week itself is a great way to raise awareness of these issues or initiatives, showcase companies with brilliant ideas or find new products. Through National Stationery Week, I have found an amazing company, Vent for Change, that produces writing materials from recycled products and gives away thousands of free pencils across the world, to the children who need it most.

The first ever National Stationery Week I got involved with on Twitter, many years ago, was also the reason I started this blog. In 2015, apparently. Five years ago next year! I would never have thought of writing a stationery blog till I found a whole community out there, that I wanted to be a part of.

The tenth National Stationery Week – and my fifth one – is going to be bigger than ever. They have already scored eight amazing sponsors for the week. In addition, I am going to working on a few goals that I hope to achieve by the time this week rolls around.

Sponsors for National Stationery Week 2020 include:

  • Stationery Supplies
  • Uni-ball
  • Moleskine
  • Helix Maped
  • Derwent
  • Manuscript
  • Staples
  • Cross

Each and every sponsor is amazing. By the sheer fact that they have sponsored the week, they are already pretty good in my books. However, I am really excited to see what each sponsor brings to the table. The week commonly has themes for each day, offering new opportunities. I’ll be honest, I am most excited to see Stationery Supplies on the list again. They sponsored the week for the first time last year. Stationery Supplies is an independent retailer – and a small business. The owner is really great. I love the fact that a small business in there, among the stationery giants in the country.

As the week gets closer, I’ll be sure to share more information about it and the sponsors. For now, I just wanted to introduce the week to you. Hopefully you’re as excited as I am about it! Be sure to check out the #12DaysOfStationery if you want a chance to win something.
